I’ve recently had a lot of questions about what exactly is the difference between a canvas (or gallery) wrap vs. a standout mount so I decided to give everyone an idea of what I’ve been talking about.  ;)

    Gallery Wrap vs. Standout Mount

Both are excellent choices when you are deciding how to use your new pictures in your home.  Both have a great “showy” quality and really make any picture that you choose in enlarge really pop and turn it into quite a showpiece for your home.  The difference, for the most part, is in how formal or traditional you would like to display your pictures.  The gallery wraps tend to lend a more traditional feel and really have a strong impact on your decor whereas the standout mounts are more modern and while they are showpieces as well tend to have an understates elegance that I admire.

The standout mounts are also a great way to display your pictures on shelves, mantles… I have mine sitting on our piano at home and love them!

The standout mounts come with pre-drilled holes so that they are ready to hang as soon as you get them home.  And they are actually pretty durable – my youngest has made a habit of late to climb on top of our piano (omg an what an escape artist!! lol) and play with the mounts and they have held up amazingly!  They are light (as in physically light – they weigh next to nothing!), durable, and ultra modern in style.

The gallery wrap also come ready to be hung – they have teeth hooks on the back to hold it securely to the wall as well as plastic stubs at the bottom to keep it from hitting your wall (very nice touch).

The gallery wraps are elegant and such a classically beautiful way to display your favorite family portrait.  The image is actually printed on canvas and stretched over the frame to create the wrapped look and finished with plain black backing (even the back it nicely finished!).  I’m so impressed with how great these gallery wraps turn out!!  My favorites are the more casual pictures displayed in such a timeless way – it really feels like your family displayed as a work of art in your home.

When you come down to it both are amazingly great choices when your puzzling out what to do with your great new pictures.  It just depends on what you would like most in your home.  If you have any questions about them or want to see my samples let me know and I’ll bring them with me to our session or we can meet up just so you can have a look.  ;)

candiedHolidayBubbleHolidayWell, I recently had a request for a custom holiday card and so tried my hand at making a couple of greeting card designs – only to find that it’s lots of fun.  ;)   Here’s a couple of the designs that are now available.  I’m still working on some more.  The price will be $45 for a set of 25 holiday cards.

These are already available to recent customers whose galleries can be accessed via my client link from my main page.  If I have taken your pictures before my photocart upgrade please let me know and I can upload your gallery to this location and you can order the cards from there.  :)

Let me know what you think!  Do you like the first couple of templates?  Any direction you’d like to see me go in for the next few?  :)
